Due to the large influx of spam, I have decided to moderate all my comments from now on.  Don’t worry if you happen to disagree with something I post … I love a good “discussion” so I will post your comment … as long as it’s not a tirade of dirty mouth worthless dribble.

I’ll Tell You What You Can Cut Speaker Boehner …
Feb 18th, 2011 by womanoffeathers

While they are slicing and dicing the Govt spending “because the people have spoken with their votes to get the Federal Govt out of our lives,” their choices are:

“Funding for our First Responders, et el…”

The reasoning for this?  Hey, the local govt will have to find a way to fund them, cause we need to make cuts in the Federal Spending.  Their State Govts will take good care of them to make sure they have enough equipment to fight the flames that are swirling around everything in your home that was your life.

Hopefully you or someone else in your family aren’t trapped inside your home, cause the only truck they had left, just broke down (carrying the only 2 volunteer firemen they have gear for) and with the other cuts made in the Healthcare, the EMS only has one ambulance for the whole county … oh, and the nearest hospital is 100 miles, because there is nowhere else for the uninsured to go (cause there was no more funding for “Free Clinics” and the Big Corporate Insurance Co.s know they can charge as much as they want cause there are no “Federal Regulations” allowed) and the rush on ERs for minor illnesses bankrupted all the smaller hospitals and clinics, so they had to close.

As you can see, it has all become a domino effect, putting more people out of work, and prices of oil skyrocketing … which, in turn, has caused a rise in prices for other commodities such as … food and other household goods … yet, those on fixed incomes have had their rates frozen since 2008, cause there has not been any rise in the “Cost of Living” …

Really? Have you gone shopping recently?

“Funding for the Poor, Elderly & Disabled Community Projects, et el …”

According to them, the poor, elderly & disabled don’t need help with the heat in the winter, cooling in the summer, or much needed repairs/remodeling on their homes (like weatherization or ramps for easier access).  They also don’t need food programs for them … or their children getting free breakfasts and lunches at school (which may be their only meals)

They also don’t need any more schools or improvements to the existing schools.  In fact, they are closing many schools, cramming more students into classes, and “laying off” many teachers and school administrators.

There’s a whole bunch of other stuff (I didn’t even tap what they are doing to the EPA, Environment and Energy), but I will touch on them later.  Right now, I will tell them what they CAN cut …

How about their own salaries … which starts at about$75,000 a year for a freshman Congressperson and raises for each re-elected term (which is why tax cuts for just those under $250,000 was not acceptable to those in Congress … they would actually have to pay taxes!) … and you also get more if you Chair a Committee, are a Leader/Whips of the Majority and Minority,  and a whole lot more to the Speaker of the House.  Many of those in Congress make more than the President does a year … and all of them automatically have Healthcare!!!

Ok … so they have to pay for 2 residences … one in DC and one in their hometown.  Gee, why don’t they make one of those many empty Federal Buildings into  Congressional Dorms? They could pay rent … or at least their own utilities.  That should save some money.  Since most of them are just a block or two from the Capital, they could just walk to work.  Or for ones a little further away, they could have their own bus (built to use only bio fuel).

Here’s another thought … since you so often say that you “work for us”, maybe we should pay your salaries … oh wait … we already do … WITH OUR TAXES!  Guess what … without jobs … we pay no taxes.  That means … your salaries should be cut so that you have to live on the same amount of money we do.

Some of us have special diets … like a diabetic cannot have anything with sugar.  A 9.7 oz bag of the Generic for Splenda is $6 and anything on the shelf that says “Sugar-Free” is most likely twice as much as the equivalent.  If you need to also watch your Sodium because of your blood pressure or have a tendency to retain water … good luck finding anything cheap.

So Speaker Boehner … we don’t need anymore of your crocodile tears as you talk about your poor upbringing … we need you to actually remember what it was like to not know where your next meal was coming from, or the holes in the bottom of your shoes cause your parents can’t buy you another pair till dad or mom can get a job or worry about your aging mother who has to be careful where she steps in her house because the floor has some “soft spots” … These are the people that wouldn’t have been in this position if it hadn’t been for the way the economy was in 2008 … and you want to take us back there when we were finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Thanks … but NO THANKS!

Of course … that’s Just My Opinion … :-)
